John W. Stevens Wetlands Education Center and Nature Trails
The City of Richmond Hill proudly presents the John W. Stevens Wetlands Education Center and Nature Trails in Historic Richmond Hill Georgia. Richmond Hill is a progressive city with a small town feel. Rich in History from it's earliest period when Gaule Indians roamed the area, the Civil War, and Henry Ford's resurrection of the area. This city is beautiful, timely and quaint all at the same time.

The City of Richmond Hill is always concerned about their youth as well as their education and has created a beautiful wetlands education center to highlight the nature trails located nearby. The trail which encompases about three miles wetlands are about 75% paved with beautiful lighting styled in the Henry Ford period enhancing the beauty of the trails. The area covered by the trails were originally rice fields which were used to feed the Southern States during the Civil War period. Today they have grown into an easily accessable natural wetlands area. Bird houses, lighting and wildlife viewing stands accessorize this wonderful area filled with wildlife of all types. Deer, birds, flowers, racoons, aligators, snakes, fish and more can be found in the area. The State of the Art Wildlife Education Center has a full kitchen, ice machine, sound system, and BBQ house is perfect for use by clubs, organizations, familys and groups for meetings, parties and functions.
